Editorial Review

KitchenAid's Artisan stand mixer is a substantial piece of equipment: 325 watts of mixing power make child's play of creaming butter, kneading dough, and whipping cream. The kid in you will appreciate how quick and easy it is to mix up a batch of cookie dough. This model comes with three attachments: a flat beater for making batter, meat loaf, and all textures in-between; a wire whip for egg whites, mayonnaise, and more air-infused creations; and a hook for mixing and kneading yeast doughs. All three are solidly constructed and easily secured to the beater shaft with a simple twist. This model also includes a pouring shield for guiding ingredients to their proper destination, and the bowl itself locks tight to the base. Standing about 15 inches high, jutting out a foot, and weighing more than a grown woman's bowling ball, this stand mixer isn't the sort of appliance you'll wipe down and put away. Better to find a square foot of free counter space for easy access; besides, this machine is as pretty as it is rugged--you'll want to show it off. --Betsy Danheim

From the Manufacturer

The Artisan mixer's strong 325-watt motor delivers the power to handle the heaviest mixtures, and mix large batches easily.

The 5-quart polished stainless steel bowl with ergonomic handle is big enough to handle large batches of heavy mixtures. Its ergonomically designed handle is contoured to fit the hand and makes lifting the bowl more comfortable.

Unique Mixing Action

The beater spins clockwise as the shaft spins counter clockwise; moving the beater to 67 different points around the bowl. This unique mixing action creates a thorough blend of ingredients and eliminates the need to rotate the bowl.

Multiple Speeds

10 speeds allow the user to select the right speed for the mixing job; from very high to very slow stir. It's easy to select the precise speed needed for a perfect mix.

Versatile Accessories

The flat beater, dough hook, and the professional wire whip add to the versatility of the mixer. The flat beater is the ideal accessory for mixing normal to heavy batters. From cake mixes to firm cookie dough, the flat beater mixes quickly and thoroughly.

The dough hook mixes and kneads yeast dough, saving both time and the effort of hand-kneading. The wire whip incorporates the maximum amount of air in whipped mixtures for fluffier whipped cream and angel food cakes.

All attachments are solidly constructed, and attach easily to the stand mixer.

Easy Clean Up

The pouring shield fits around the top of the bowl and prevents ingredient splash-out. The chute makes it convenient and easy to add ingredients.

The tilt-back mixer head allows for easy access to bowl and beaters. A lock lever holds the mixer head securely in place and the bowl fastens tightly to the base.

Optional Attachments

Optional attachments (sold separately) complete the package to make cooking a pleasure. From citrus juicer to sausage stuffer, KitchenAid stand mixers can handle just about any job in the kitchen.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great essential for the baker in your life....you!
I love the mixer's power, capacity and ease of use. It makes even garlic mashed potatoes heavenly. I selected a black model to match my Viking kitchens without realizing the color would need more frequent cleaning. If you use this mixer every day buy a cover or another color to save time.

5-0 out of 5 stars Fantastic!
I got this mixer about a month ago. I've wanted one for years, but always talked myself out of it (too expensive, too big, etc.) After finding a great deal here on Amazon, I finally caved in and let me say, I'm glad I did. I love this mixer! I was worried I wouldn't use it very much, since I already have a very nice bread machine (a "Zo"). I find that I'm using it all the time though. It really is like having an extra pair of hands in the kitchen. Cookie dough is so much easier. I'm also making bread with it constantly. It's just so simple to throw the ingredients in the mixer and let it do all the kneading. I've been making fresh bread and bagels every week and it's been no hassle. It handles the dough very well and stays put. It's a big heavy machine. The only problem I was having with it was I was finding it very difficult to remove the bowl to clean it after I was done mixing something. My husband suggested rubbing some vaseline on the bottom edge and that has solved the problem completely. Now I can pop the bowl off with one hand. Anyway, if you've been wanting one of these and if you like to bake at all, do youself a favor and get one. You will be amazed at how much easier it will make your life. I only wish I'd gotten one years ago!

5-0 out of 5 stars Ivan must like Belgian Waffles too...
Well....my wife of 14 years finally found out about my girlfriend of 13 years and my 7 children with said girlfriend.
She didn't take the news very well, cried, yelled at me, smacked me, then packed up all of her stuff.
She informed me that she had found out about the affair and now had met someone else herself, a Russian Dancer named Ivan Karkov. He came over, punched me in the face, and then helped her move all of her things into a van. And off they went.

As sad as I was to see my wife leave, I was even more sad to see our KitchenAid Mixer leaving. It was the secret to perfect Belgian Waffles that my wife would make for me when I actually spent the night there and wasn't "Busy working at Uncle Joey's Mashed Potato Bar".

I didn't know where I would get a mixer like this, I only shop at Old Navy, Home Depot, and Sam Goody. None of those places had them . (I looked.)
I didn't think I would ever be able to replace my Mixer as easy as I replaced my wife one year into our marriage! So, I asked my girlfriend and mother of my 7 children if she knew where to get a Kitchenaid Mixer. She said she buys all her kitchen needs on Amazon. OF COURSE! I didn't even think of it, maybe it's because all I can think of is some sweaty russian dancer touching my first love.....but, I did go buy one.
I finally got a new one and my Belgian Waffle breakfasts are back! Hooray!

Guess I didn't need my wife after all.... ... Read more

For a quick and easy meal, this festive red machine fires up quesadillas filled with grilled veggies, barbecued chicken, or just plain old cheese in under five minutes. The cooking plates fit tortillas that are up to 12 inches in diameter and divide your quesadilla into six manageable sections during pressing. A power light illuminates when the unit is plugged in and a ready light lets you know when your quesadilla is done. The metal cooking plates are coated with nonstick Teflon so quesadillas lift easily out of the maker and cleanup is even quicker than cooking time. The maker also has a built-in drip tray that catches stray bits of melted cheese and filling ingredients. The quesadilla maker's handle stays cool to the touch for safe handling, and the whole unit locks together for compact, upright storage. The Santa Fe quesadilla maker comes with its own recipe book and is covered by a one-year limited manufacturer's warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I really do enjoy my quesadilla maker
Since I found it marked down at 10 percent at a local drugstore. I have been having a blast making these quesadillas with this. I have made them before in the past using various other gadgets but found this to be the ideal way to make them. Before I'd get them on my grill griddle the fillings would fall out. same withmy george foreman grill. This happens to be the easiest way and most fun way to make those. So far I have made plain cheese ones and Pizza quesadillas. I just love this and I know most will too.

5-0 out of 5 stars Perfect Quesadillas! Love it!
This is a terrific appliance!7 minute Quesadillas!I sprayed a little Pam, plugged in this machine, put some Perdue shortcuts chicken in my mini chopper, put the chicken and pre shredded Mexican cheese on a tortilla, put a tortilla on the top, put it in this machine and closed the top. While it was cooking I put some sour cream and salsa on a dish and 5 minutes later I had delicious quesadillas!Nothing stuck to the nonstick finish, just wipe it with a wet paper towel (after it cools) and you're done.Nothing oozed out, no drips at all, and if you over fill and it oozes there is a drip tray for the front and a built in drip area around the rim.It is much better than I expected.I bought it at Bed, Bath and Beyond and in addition to the manual/recipe book it also came with a cookbook, I can't wait to try more recipes. And, you can store it upright so it saves cabinet space. It will pay for itself in 2 quesadillas, plus you can enjoy them at home.Highly recommended!

1-0 out of 5 stars A nightmare to clean
I was so excited when I first got the quesadilla maker, but it was a different story after I used it...The cheese simply dripped all around the quesadilla maker, not only onto my countertop, which made a real mess, but mostly between the bottom heating plate and the plastic base of the appliance. It literally takes me half an hour to clean it up every time, and that's because I give up (you simply can't get the cheese out of this narrow space, since the heating plate doesn't come out).I tried it several times, placing aluminum foil between the countertop and the appliance to make cleaning easier, but there's nothing to be done about cleaning the quesadilla maker itself. So I finally gave up and made quesadillas with my good old pan, it was a breeze - to make them and to clean up!And the quesadillas are just as good.If I were you, I wouldn't get this product. It looks cool, but that's about it. ... Big enough to hold a 5-pound chicken, two Cornish hens, fourkebabs, or four beef or fish steaks, this "baby" version of the GeorgeForeman rotisserie brings the advantages of rotational cooking into thehome, yet measures just 17 inches wide, 11-1/2 inches high, and 12inches deep. 1-0 out of 5 stars What a disaster! Never buying a Salton product again.
I work in a company that played a role in a rotisserie pork project. Even though we never got to sample the product, just thinking about rotisserie pork made me break down, do the research, and track down the Baby George at my local Sears.

What a nightmare! The first unit I bought burnt a 4 pound piece of brisket to an internal temperature of 190ºF in half the time it should have taken to get it blood rare. Although the manual recommends using a thermometer, it's impossible to stop the rotation to check the internal temperature without shutting it down. But next time, I decided to try anyway. In went another 4 pound piece of brisket. Sure enough, when the exterior was pretty burnt, the interior was still bloody and barely warm. Perfect for beef, perhaps, but not something that would work for chicken or pork. This time I noticed that the timer didn't seem to be working at all, not an issue for me as I had set my own timer. So I cleaned it up, stuffed it back in the box and drove back to the mall to get another one.

I bought a frying chicken to cook in it. I carefully trussed the chicken to keep it from touching the elements. Again, I set a timer to help me keep tabs on the chicken's progress, as well as to make sure the timer was working.

I'm fairly certain that both the timer and the heating element were working properly on this unit, as the chicken was about three-quarters done at 45 minutes when the DOOR EXPLODED!!!, sending a shower of hot glass shards throughout my kitchen. Luckily there was no one there at the time. I had to wait for the glass to cool before I could pry up the little pieces of glass that had melted into the linoleum. I couldn't get the door to open, because of the glass fragments in the hinges, so I pulled out the chicken, dumped the unit in a trash bag, and took it back to Sears.

I sent an email to Salton. They did not acknowledge the first defective oven, and implied that I had abused the door on the second one, causing it to explode. They also said that there was no harm in being present in case of just such an explosion, as the door was made of tempered glass. So the hot glass shrapnel that filled my kitchen and melted into the floor was perfectly harmless. Yeah, right. I'm still picking pieces out of the soles of my feet.

I am so glad I didn't buy this product online. I'd never have managed two returns.

3-0 out of 5 stars Too small to be practical
Unit is much to small.Holds only small chickens. The wire basket is even smaller - I wanted to rotisserie some chicken wings, but could only get one serving's worth of wings into the basket. It's a well-built unit, but too small to be practical.

5-0 out of 5 stars Got it for husband for Christmas, for our new place!
I bought the rotisserie for my husband we just got our own place, and my girl friend recommended the Baby George on Amazon! I thought my husband would appreciate it, and I was half right, because I love that thing. It has been 3 weeks and it's the most used appliance in the house. No matter what we put in to it, the meat, fish and even baked potatoes comes out looking and tasting amazing. Before this appliance I had never cooked chicken all by myself before and this rotisserie makes it so easy.Just season and let it work its magic. Not to mention the Baby George saved our lives, our stove wasn't turned on and we ended up using the George for everything! It fits up to 2 baby chickens, lamb (using the basket provided), salmon, baked potato and everything ends up looking as if it came from the cooking channel. You just can't go wrong! Now our stove is working and the baby George is still our main appliance.I am so happy I got this...its true when we use the basket it is a pain to wash out because its made like the kind used on a barbeque grill so what do you expect, (I make my husband wash it :O)Oh, and my parents bought a Rotisserie a huge thing (different brand)...it was supposedly suppose to be a good one...but they waited 3 hours and when they took it out it still wasn't completely cooked (she ended up cooking it in the oven). We have had no such problem with the Baby George, we might of added min because we like our meat well done, but other wise it has been doing a perfect job.The only problem I have with the machine is that it only comes in one color. Its white and my kitchen is black and stainless steal, but it is small and compact and even in white it looks really nice on the counter top, and if you don't want it on display its small enough to hide in a kitchen cabinet.Oh, and the bottom has suction cups so were ever you put it, it will never fall or slide.Over all best buy, would recommend to everyone! ... The first electric rice cookers seemed miraculous--perfect rice in minutes with a minimum of fuss. Now, happily, the second generation is here. Equipped with a micro-computerized fuzzy logic temperature control system, Zojirushi's new rice cooker not only knows when rice is done, but cooks to different levels of doneness as well. Want softer rice for making croquettes or harder rice for fried rice? No problem. This 10-cup cooker also has controls for brown rice, white rice, porridge, or grits. You can even make one-dish meals like vegetable rice or jambalaya--the recipes are included. Best of all, the cooker keeps rice warm for a long time--up to 8 hours--without drying out. To save time, you can use the Quick Cook option. The nonstick inner cooking pan conveniently lifts out for adding ingredients, and the electric cord is retractable into the base. A large, easy-to-read LCD clock displays the current time as well as the time to completion so you always know when the rice will be done. --Marianne Painter ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Versatile for soft rices and meals, not for sticky rice
I actually have two of the Zojirushi Neuro Fuzzy rice cookers, including this 10-cup one (for family size and bulk meals) and the smaller 3-cup for cooking plain white rice for 1-4 people. Like the other reviews, this rice cooker makes long- and medium- grain rices perfectly. This includes arborio, jasmine, etc.

Some caveats to mention that were not in the other reviews:

- While there are many styles of making congee (rice porridge, jook, etc.,) this rice cooker makes the rice expand to soak up the water so that the result is not soupy, but rather has the consistency of say, grits. It doesn't make the rice creamy the way some restaurants do by adding starch. I personally like soupy and creamy styles. This one is somewhere in between.

- I tried cooking sticky rice, which is used in lotus leaf rice (zhong) or "lo mei gei." In order for this to work, the sweet rice grains must be soaked for several hours before cooking. This can be achieved by setting a timed cook, for example, putting the rice and water in the morning to be done cooking by evening. When I attempted to cook the sticky rice straight up without soaking first, I found that the center was still in kernels while the rice sticking to the edge were correctly cooked to a sticky consistency. (Even if you attempt to cycle through two or three times, this isn't going to work.) Also, I don't recommend cooking more than three cups of sticky rice at any given time. (I had tried 6 cups. It was a disastrous mess.)

Perhaps another reviewer can give better tips on cooking sticky rice in these rice cookers other than pre-soaking the rice.

- Last caveat: Keeping the rice pot in warming mode for more than an hour after cooking congee can erode some of the inner pot's non-stick finish on the bottom of the pot, but not much.

Just thought I would add some realities after I've had my rice cooker for two or three years. It really is a great rice cooker and I don't regret having purchased both sizes of them.

5-0 out of 5 stars A fun purchase and healthly too
If you look around you can find this great product at steep discounts. The 10 cup cooker is a time saver because one or two day old rice tastes just fine. My big surprise was how much I enjoy eating steel cut oatmeal. Much different then the quick Quaker oats. I followed one reviewer's suggestion and tried Stensels rice out of Louisana. The white popcorn rice is delightful. You can set the unit up to make your oatmeal the night before. The oatmeal will boil over [through the top vent] unless stirred during cooking, but it is easy to clean up. You will eat healthier food with this appliance.

5-0 out of 5 stars Absolutely the best!
A friend of mine got the Zojirushi rice cooker and highly recommended it to me.I bought one and LOVE it!It makes rice perfectly every time and is extremely easy to use.You can set it to cook the rice to be ready exactly when you want it to, it's easy to clean (I love anything that can go in the dishwasher!) and easy to store.I've since bought another one for another friend for Christmas, I would highly recommend this rice cooker to anyone.None of the others come close in quality! ... Offering large nonstick cooking, this jumbo-size version of thecelebrated George Foreman Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machinegrills seven or eight burgers or chicken breasts at once. The electricappliance's appeal lies in its simplicity and countertopconvenience--not to mention its fat-fighting ability. The double-sided grill cooksburgers, steaks, chicken, sausage, fish, shrimp, and vegetables top andbottom in minutes. Grill marks not only look appetizing, theycontribute caramelized flavor. The bottom grill's deep grooves collectfat, and the grill is sloped so the fat runs off into a dishwasher-safeplastic tray (two included) stationed under the unit's front.

Because the grill is nonstick, cleanup is a snap: a quick scrape with aplastic spatula (two included) and a quick wipe with a paper towel or asponge. Accompanying the grill is a 227-page cookbook containingrecipes for such lip-smacking dishes as Halibut with Avocado LemonCream, Dijon Flank Steak, New Orleans Pork Ribs, Stuffed Green ChileBurgers, and Garlic Stuffed Red Potatoes. 3-0 out of 5 stars George Foreman GR36CB Jumbo Size Plus Grill with Cookbook
The size of this grill is great, but makes it hard to clean. For that reason, I went back to my smaller George Forman grill and gave this one away.

3-0 out of 5 stars Are you sure you want the jumbo?
I've had this unit for several years and just went back to the family size grill for our family of 4.We're trying to eat healthier, smaller portions and, being the "kitchen manager," I decided the jumbo size just wasn't worth the trouble anymore.I'm giving it 3 stars here because not only did the nonstick coating wear off a little too soon to suit me, but the power cord got hot (which always worried me), and perhaps the biggest disappointment was that the lid would not fully open under any of my kitchen cabinets. The unit is that large.I could only use this grill on my kitchen island. You probably won't want to leave it out (because it's so big), but then it's not easy to store either for the same reason.Just be sure you really want/need this large size if you're going for this grill.I do love the Foreman grills but this one was just a bit too large to be a convenient kitchen appliance.

3-0 out of 5 stars do not buy this grill, buy the new version!

Ideal for a large family or a dinner party, this round CrockPot from Rival is cleanly designed and simple to operate. One dial turns to three heat settings, low, high, and keep warm for serving, and a red light indicates the power is on. The heavy stoneware crock lifts out of the heating base for easy cleaning thanks to a stick-resistant coating, and is attractive enough to serve from right at the table. While the crock is safe for use in the microwave and dishwasher, it is not intended for use on a stovetop or under a broiler.

With two cook settings, low and high, the pot can slow cook a wide variety of stews, roasts, and soups, recipes for which are included in the owner's guide. The glass lid, also dishwasher-safe, sends moisture back into the pot while at the same time allows contents to be viewed. Easy to carry by means of heat-resistant, flange-style handles, the pot measures 10 inches high by 12 inches in diameter (14 inches with handles). 5-0 out of 5 stars GREAT Product!
Got this 2 weeks ago, cooked beans, soups, tomato sauce and it works beautifully. After 12 hours on low, tomato sauce had no scorching.
The nice surprise was how easy it is to clean:just fill with water, wait 5 minutes, and wipe out, very easy:I dont even need to use the cooking bags.We are on a low sodium diet and this is indispensible for us as we have to make almost everything from scratch.

4-0 out of 5 stars Nice....
This is a nice little crock-pot that has worked real well for us, particularly with soups and stews. It's a little slow getting warmed up, but quite durable.Definitely a bargain for the price.

5-0 out of 5 stars A must have for your kitchen!
Rival gives the cook a great product with this easy to use and clean cooker. From stews to beans to roasts, you've got a great little machine here, and the removable crock is so convenient! Cook the dish for your church potluck, wait for the crock to cool a bit, take it out, and off you go with no need to change dishes! Diehard s’mores fans will take year-round pleasure in this indoor/outdoor Casa Moda s’mores maker. Though it doesn’t have quite the cachet of a bonfire, the tidy little unit does have everything necessary to cooking and compiling s’mores ingredients. The centerpiece of the appliance is the 5-1/4-by-5-1/2-inch marshmallow-roasting grill, which runs on a 2-6-ounce can of chafing fuel, such as Sterno (chafing fuel not included). The grill includes a burner for the fuel, as well as a handle and a snuffer to extinguish the flame. A lazy susan base holds the grill as well as the thick white ceramic containers for the graham crackers, chocolate bars, and marshmallows. Casa Moda also includes four roasting forks and a clear set of instructions. A fun item to pull out for late-night snacking or movie marathons, the unit is highly functional if not terrifically stylish. It also beats a bonfire in your living room. 5-0 out of 5 stars I love it!
My daughters have sleepovers every weekend so I purchased this as a "fun" item instead of the old chips and dip. What alot of fun!I can't wait to use it this summer outdoors, too, as we have a gas barbecue and miss roasting marshmallows from when we had a charcoal grill!I purchased the 3 2.6 oz. sternos at the local grocery store for $3.99.When I received this item, I was truly impressed, I expected a cheap piece but everything is sturdy and beautiful.I alsopurchased it witht he BONUS fondue maker! Thanks!

4-0 out of 5 stars Oh, Puleeeez people!
A simple search for "chafing fuel" on Amazon will net some results.

Other than that, the product is up to par.Yeah, so it's an unnecessary (the way I feel about TV btw) but it's fun.I got it for my son's birthday party coming up in a few weeks and tested it out with good results.

Creating up to 1-1/2 quarts of ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet, or frozen drinks at home takes only about 20 minutes with thiselectric appliance, and salt and ice are not needed. After themachine's chilling chamber has been in the freezer for about eighthours the liquid between its walls is thoroughly frozen. The chamberthen goes atop the power base, the unit's paddle goes into the chamber, the transparent top is locked in place, and the machine is turned on.Ingredients go into the chamber through an opening in the top as thepaddle turns. The chamber chills the ingredients to whateverconsistency is desired--though dense treats are hard to make becausethe paddle churns in air.

Chocolate chips, chopped fruit, nuts, and other special ingredients canbe added toward the end. The chamber is nonstick for easy cleanup.Storing it in the freezer ensures a frozen confection is only 20 to 40minutes away when the mood strikes. The machine measures 10 inches indiameter and 15 inches high and weighs 9-1/2 pounds. It carries athree-year warranty against defects. 5-0 out of 5 stars Ice cream just the way you want it!
This is a delightfully easy way to make ice cream that tastes the way you want it to.Want a flavor no one sells?Mix it yourself with this easy-to-use machine.Even basic flavors are great when you control the ingredients that go in.
The machine is not messy, as it requires no ice or rock salt, and all of the parts are fairly easy to wash. The recipes in the instruction book work just fine.

A bit of advice;
1)Read the instructions carefully.
2)Plan for some lead time. You need to have the bowl completely frozen. (If you need to make more than one batch at a time, you can buy an extra freezer bowl.)
3)Bear in mind that the ice cream will still be soft when the machine is done with it. (This is true with most ice cream machines.) You will still need to put it in the freezer for a while before serving.
4)Indulge in high quality ingredients; for example, get some whole vanilla beans for your vanilla ice cream. (If you want a lot of them, eBay is the cheapest place to get them.)

I am delighted with this purchase and just can not imagine buying ice cream from the store again.

5-0 out of 5 stars Pays for itself in one summer of use
I've had this ice-cream maker for three years now, and think it's the best little ice-cream maker I've owned. It's so easy to use and clean, and works perfectly every time. It has definitely paid for itself several times over, because I haven't bought store-bought ice-cream since I bought this machine, and I've made LOTS of ice-cream, gelato and sorbet with it since.

My recommendation for best results: Refridgerate your ice-cream mixture overnight before making if possible, and be sure the insert is thoroughly frozen in a very cold freezer. On warm summer days, I also cover the top opening of the clear plastic "lid"with a folded towel to keep the cool in better.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best Pinacolada maker
I got this icecream maker for Chritmas a couple of years ago. It really works well. It does take some of your freezer room but well worth it. We made Pinacoladas with it when I first got it and my friends havent stopped talking about them since. Makes a wonderful gift or for your home. My kids love it too. ... Read more

This is the blender of the future. It performs all thetraditional blending tasks (crushing ice for margaritas, thinning icecream) plus it can be used like a food processor (mincing garlic, puréeing peppers). The wide jar is rounder and squatter thanold-style blenders, which makes it easier to reach in and scrape thesides (when the blender is off!). To reduce splatters of strawberrydaiquiri, the Step Start feature starts blending slowly, then picks upto the chosen speed. This blender also comes with a booklet containing75 recipes--my favorite is the Frosty Chocolate Raspberry Latt&eacute.--Dana Van Nest

Editor's Choice:KitchenAid's five-speed blender has a number offunctions that set it above the crowd as our choice for best blenderunder $100. It starts with the five speed settings and the pulsefunction, which works at any of the speeds--a really nice touch. 1-0 out of 5 stars Rubber Drive Teeth Don't Last
We have had this blender foryears now.We bought it after seeing one that our friends owned. We have used it for milk shakes, smoothies, and crushing ice.Honestly, we loved it.Then the blender our friends owned died. The rubber teeth used to turn the blade disintegrated. We felt bad for them, but never thought such a fate waited for us.Today our rubber drive teeth crumbled into dust.Garbage.Very badly engineered.Don't buy one if longevity means anything to you.

5-0 out of 5 stars AWESOME...what's with all these competitors' SHILL reviews?
After my Krups died (lasted 4 years) I did a ton of research before I bought this blender, and in the end the choice was just too obvious: there is no other blender in this price range with this amount of sheer power, not even close.

The KitchenAid just blows away the competition from Cuisinart to Braun to Oster to Waring. It certainly was a night and day difference from my old Krups, which took about 3 times longer to do the same work (pureeing 35 oz of bananas and oatmeal with 5 oz of soy milk and yogurt). My sister has the Cuisinart 600watt model and it was also no comparison.

So what sold me on the KitchenAid, despite all the one-star single-reviewers?(NOTE: sure sign of paid shills, aside from the anonymous ones---only one review to their entire history or all their reviews praise one brand and/or attack another brand.)

1.Weight.Simple and consistent indicator of good quality in any electronic device (including speakers, receivers, etc.) is the sheer heft and weight of the thing---I went to a local housewares shop and simply lifted each and every display model. The KitchenAid easily outweighs all the others by almost double.

2.Blade.The KitchenAid's blades are bigger, thicker, and more multi-level than the competition's.Goes through everything in a jiffy.

3.Ease of pitcher movement: very easy to put the pitcher on the machine and take it off, zero twisting---just set it straight down.

4.Nice thick glass on the pitcher.Looks like you could kill somebody with the thing!

My dislikes:

1.Pitcher is only 40oz, my old Krups had a 50oz pitcher.

2.Plastic/rubber lid is kind of a pain to put on and take off, it's so darn tight.

3.I wish they would just have the simple flip switch controls that the VitaMix blenders have...without the VitaMix price tag, of course!

Now I have to say that I've only had this blender for about a month, but my neighbor has had his for two years and has never had the kinds of problems that many of the MYSTERY reviewers here claim, and the guy is a margarita fiend.

Hmmmm...could this just be a case of badmouthing the competition?

1-0 out of 5 stars smoothies not so smooth
although this blender is beautiful, mine wasn't able to perform even the most basic of blender tasks adequately. despite several minutes of full-speed blending, it left a banana smoothy full of banana chunks big as marbles. even my old $25 blender could handle a soft banana! as decor, it's fine, but as a blender, it doesn't cut the mustard (or the banana). ... Editorial Review

Sometimes deep fried foods are the only thing that will satisfy a particular craving. If cooked at the proper temperature, fried foods absorb surprisingly little grease. The adjustable thermostat on this 1500-watt, 1-1/2-liter capacity deep fryer can be set at variable settings up to 375 degrees Fahrenheit, and a frying guide gives suggestions for types of food. For safety the lid locks tightly but features a viewing window, along with dual filters for odor control. An outer handle raises and lowers the cooking basket, and the body of the fryer stays cool to the touch. A 30-minute timer and power on and temperature ready lights also add safety. The lid removes for cleaning and the nonstick bowl can be easily wiped clean. The deep fryer measures 10 by 8 by 10 inches. --Ann Bieri ... Read more

3-0 out of 5 stars Nice Fryer - Bad Thermostat
I like the fryer, especially for the price.I had the same thermostat problem mentioned by others.Setting it for 375 got about 350.I returned it as defective, but unfurtunately the replacement has the same problem.I use it mainly for fish, for which 350 is fine; I just recalibrated the markings on the thermostat so I can tell how hot it will be.Overall, its a good product with a fairly serious quality control problem.

Drying apple slices in just six hours and beef jerky in nine-and-a-half, this 500-watt dehydrator is exceptionally fast for its price range. Its patented system pressurizes air up through the drying trays' outer rings and across each tray, ensuring not only speed but uniformity, so foods dry evenly. The dehydrator's thermostat adjusts from 95 degrees F up to 145 degrees F, offering flexibility for drying different items. Each of the four trays is 12-3/4 inches in diameter and 1/2-inch deep (the durable plastic dehydrator is 13-1/2 by 8-1/4 inches overall). Additional trays may be purchased, providing up to a total of 10 square feet for drying lots of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and/or flowers at one time. A fruit-roll sheet inserts into a tray so that applesauce or other fruit sauces can be dried into healthful snacks. You can also use the tray for drying other liquid foods, such as soups and sauces, for camping trips. On hot summer days nothing beats a scoop of snow--to eat! This delightful Snowman churns out bowlfuls of shaved ice in just seconds. Kids can slurp flavored sno-cones for a birthday party and adults can sip frozen daiquiris for evenings on the deck. Two 4-inch round plastic molds with lids are included for freezing water, syrup-flavored water, or fruit juices. Simply place the frozen round (regular ice cubes will work, too, but not as well) in the blade unit, cover with the motorized top, and press down on the palm-size operating button. A bowl placed underneath (not included) catches the instant snow. For safety the sharp blade is completely internal and not accessible to fingers when the Snowman is operating. The machine measures 13 inches high when assembled, with an 8-inch-square base. A one-year warranty covers the Snowman against defects. --Ann Bieri ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars snow cone maker
I bought one of these about a month ago, and i use it about every other day (i'm not kidding) it makes awesome snow, and is really easy to use.I bought the rival brand strawberry daquri flavored syrup at a wal mart, and that, some plain shaved ice, and some strawberry yogurt makes an awesome real strawberry daquri

5-0 out of 5 stars great for kids
I bought this product over a year ago and have been very pleased with the performance and value. It is so easy to use that my 6 year old makes her own snow cones. It works best if you use the ice block molds that come with it, but ice cubes can also be used.As far as safety is concerned, I have not had problems with my children cutting themselves on the blades. We only use it for ice (not frozen juice) so after use, we disassemble and air dry.I've enjoyed mine so much I'm buying one for my sister.

1-0 out of 5 stars Not real good in the safety first department
Yes, I will agree the blade is out of reach when you are using it.However, it is too open and accessible when assembling, cleaning, or storing.
Little hands can get cut on this very easy even with mom or grandma helping.
I found campared to the Rival snow cone maker this is not a very good machine. ... Read more

1-0 out of 5 stars poor design, waste of money
This is a poorly designed lemonade maker. The plastic construction is flimsy.
When you apply pressure to juice the lemon, you feel like the plastic is going to crack.

Making lemonade should be an easy, enjoyable process. But this machine makes it a lot more trouble than it has to be. You have to put sugar in a separate reserve, add water into another reserve, and the steam comes out of the top, so it can get kind of hot. Because the water is heated to melt the sugar, you'll have to use ALOT of ice to cool it down in order to drink. Then you have to disassemble the top to wash out the sugar, pulp & seeds.

I cannot believe Salton released this product to be sold. It is a completely unnecessary contraption. I would recommend buying a simple, smaller juice extractor for squeezing the lemons instead. You can melt sugar with hot water in a separate cup and just add cold water. Trust me, it'll save u money, time and counter space!

4-0 out of 5 stars Delicious down to the very last drop!!
I have to admit that this was an impulse buy.... BUT a good one for sure! I was hesitant at first because of some of the "less than favourable" things some reviewers had written, but decided to go ahead and try it, knowing I could return it to Amazon if I had problems.

It has arrived and I must admit, it is complicated at first to figure out... what goes where and how to do it... BUT, after the first batch, I was an ole pro.... (do you think I can have my own lemonade stand now?)

One half - one cup of sugar.... NO WAY enough. I made it with the 6 lemons and one cup and 3/4 to 2 cups of sugar. I dont think you can do more sugar than that because there is not enough room in the reservoir.Jug:WAY TOO HEAVY and bulky with all the ice to use...so we had to put into another container, which was messy BUT again, by the second batch...yep, you guessed it; an ole pro:)

The lemonade is amazing. It tastes as good as your lemons are. Buy bright yellow lemons that have a good even texture and nice and firm. Old lemons that are shrivelled up or pock marked just wont cut it. The only down fall of course is that lemons are costly... I buy mine at the farmers market at low cost, but they are only there part of the year. So it may be too expensive to make later in the season.

My question is.... is this a novelty item I will continue to use or will I tire of it and be reselling it on ebay at the end of the summer?

Enjoy......

1-0 out of 5 stars This Lemonade Maker Will Physically Hurt You
The Lemonader. A mere $5 shipped from Amazon, I figured delcious lemonade was finally in my grasp.

Oh, a naive fool be I!

I feel foolhardy for not having pictures from the debacle that was brewing our first pitcher of lemonade. Words will just have to do.

First of all, it's a strangely complicated procedure for making a drink that consists only of water, sugar, and lemon.

First the exact amount of water it tells you to add changes. I was told by fellow lemonade brewers that I just didn't read well, but does this really seem a plausable reason for me screwing up? Doubtful.

The result of this was I poured in far too much water. "Oh no!" you might think "the pitcher is going to overflow and spill hot lemony water all over you! You'll get burned!" No, kids, don't worry. The fine people at LemonCorp knew of this danger and for that reason put a rather sizable hole where you pour the water in. So instead of having watered down lemonade you instead get water all over the place. The best part about the hole is it just comes straight out the back of the contraption. Not into any type of fail-safe mechanism which would catch the water pouring out at a rather rapid pace (seeing as they tell you to put in triple the water you actually need to).

Good design.

Well, whatever, we got that figured out so we turn it on and it starts to `brew' the sugar water. I didn't expect this but the Lemonader is much like a coffee machine, except instead of coffee grounds, it uses pure uncut sugar. Mmmm.

While this is going on you're supposed to put some lemons onto that juicer at the top so as to add essence to the Lemonade.

I start doing so. Everything's fine until around the third lemon.

This is when the machine shoots hot steam at whomever is close enough to it to get painfully burned. Yep, if the water all over your kitchen doesn't piss you off, they burn you too.

Nice.

So after tending to my third-degree burns and realizing I can no longer ream any more lemons (too dangerous!) we let the lemonade maker do its thing.

Aside from a pitcher of rather regular tasting lemonade, there was a nice pulpy mess that made me just want to jump up and make another pitcher. ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars Works For Me!
I got this Lids Off appliance as a Christmas gift in 2003.The first one did not work properly so I sent back just the plug with the serial numbers on it, per B&D instructions. In about three weeks I received a brand new appliance and this one has worked flawlessly every time I use it.I have arthritis in both hands so opening jars is a real problem. It's true that there are limits to the size jars it will open but I live alone and do not buy large jars of anything so that's not a problem for me.I like mine and I hope it keeps on keepin on!

5-0 out of 5 stars Lids off - quick and easy too!
OK, so I have to say, this gadget did not at first glance seem worthy of taking up any of my precious kitchen space.I mean, I have a HUSBAND, so who needs an electric jar opener?

Well poor Husband had a little accident whereby he detached his biceps tendon in his left arm (OUCH!) and subsequently had surgery.Needless to say, he became instantly useless to me for jar-opening purposes!

My Dad had been given one of these for Christmas and the instant my Husband saw it - he NEEDED one!So I ordered it up here at Amazon.

I must say, it works as advertised, is lightweight, takes up very little space (I keep it on the kickplate under my kitchen countertop and only put it ON the countertop when using it) and is a great conversation piece!

Now, whenever I need a jar opened, I STILL call Husband, but only because he has proclaimed the jar opener HIS DOMAIN and not to be used by wimmin!LOL!Fine by me - but I HAVE used it when he's not home and trust me, it IS easy! ... Read more

West Bend has improved on the classic corn popper design by adding a motorized stirring rod which ensures that every single kernel pops, every time. In about five minutes, the Stir Crazy Popper produces up to 6 quarts of perfectly popped corn, using one tablespoon of oil per 1/4 cup corn. It stops automatically when it's done, so you don't have to worry about burned popcorn, and you can clean it with just a quick swipe of the sponge. For added flavor, place a bit of butter in the butter well to melt over the corn as it pops. The plastic cover doubles as a serving bowl, so when the cycle is done, just flip it over to enjoy popcorn that's guaranteed to be good to the last pop. --Larisa Lomacky Moore ... Read more

4-0 out of 5 stars A Classic Design
The Stir Crazy is my personal favorite among the automatic popcorn poppers. You can get by with less oil than on the stove and you get nice distribution of your oil/flavors due to the stirrer. The plastic on these is not the best- I find a year or so of heavy use ( once or twice a week) will do it in. The edges of the bowl get melty from contact with the hot base.
Flavor and consistent fluffy texture of popcorn is superb though! Much better than an air popper.

5-0 out of 5 stars After this, I'll never eat microwave popcorn again!
I remember when I was a kid, mom used to make popcorn in an old cast iron dutch oven we had. Then we moved and lost it and were stuck with microwave popcorn since anything else we tried didn't work too well.

Now I found this and I know my memories of that popcorn as a kid aren't better than what really was. This Stir Crazy makes WONDERFUL popcorn. It is so much more fresh and tasty than microwave and not like styrofoam like air poppers make.I made it just by the directions, using a pretty good brand of seeds and only had a couple of old maids and none of it got overdone. The lid works great for the bowl too.

5-0 out of 5 stars Best pop-corn ever!!!
I grew up with a pop corn popper like this. I was so happy to find this. I bought it and now my whole family loves it. No one even wants microwave pop-corn anymore so we gave what we had away. There's no comparison! My husband grew up with an air popper and he doesn't want that anymore either. Having popcorn is now almost a nightly event. Thanks so much! I highly recommend this popper to all popcorn lovers. It's also less expensive to buy popcorn kernals in a bag instead of microwave popcorn! What a financial savings too for those of us who love popcorn!.:o)Wouldn't want to be without it. ... Read more

Ingenious and simple to operate, Tilia's FoodSaver system seals food inside containers after vacuuming out the air--and the oxygen that causes foods to spoil. That means food stays fresh longer than when it's merely refrigerated or frozen. Meat, for example, remains good in the freezer for about six months; frozen inside a vacuum package, it remains good for two to three years--and it doesn't suffer freezer burn, either. Fish, coffee, cheese, crackers, sugar, nuts, oils, and wine all stay fresh three to five times longer when stored in a vacuum, whether they're frozen, refrigerated, or at room temperature. Also, silverware and other metal items won't tarnish when stored in a vacuum-sealed bag.

Like all FoodSaver machines, this one vacuums air from containers and seals bags with a simple one-touch operation. The machine measures 15 by 5-1/2 by 3-1/2 inches, weighs 5 pounds, has a cord-storage compartment, and cleans easily with a damp, soapy cloth. It carries a one-year warranty against defects. An instruction booklet and video accompany the machine.

The basic FoodSaver container is Tilia's three-layer VacLoc bag: it has two plastic layers and an outer nylon layer to keep moist foods (such as meat loaf or chocolate cake) moist, dry foods (such as brown sugar or flour) dry, and all foods from leaking odor. Included in this kit is one 11- by 10-inch roll for bagging, three quart size bags, and two gallon bags. For cooking, the bags can go directly into a microwave oven or boiling water. They're resealable, reusable, and dishwasher-safe. --Fred Brack ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent product! + Helpful hints.
Excellent product! I've had a Tilia FoodSaver Vac for about 5 years (I asked for it for my birthday) and have never had a problem with it. If the person who said that one corner didn't seal will check the rubber on the lid, it may have slid to one side and isn't making contact with the bag when trying to seal it. This would make it not seal completely. Most reviewers don't offer hints to make using the Tilia FoodSaver Vac more economical or practical so here are some suggestions: (1) When making a bag, if the meat(as an example) is a steak 8 inches long, make the bag at least 12 inches long. The reason for this is that the bags can be washed and reused over and over until they're too small for anything to fit in and still seal.
(2) After sealing the bag, there is about an inch of waste bag material on the end you just sealed so take a felt tip marker and write on that end, what it is, the weight, and the date. When you open the bag to use the "meat", cut off the end you wrote on, wash the bag, reuse it and write on the new end when you seal it again. (3) For sanitary purposes even though I wash the bag, when I reuse it for meat, I wrap the meat in plastic wrap before putting it in the bag. (4) If you want to put liquid in a bag for sealing, put the liquid in a zip lock bag and freeze it and when it's frozen, take the contents out of the zip lock and put it in a Tilia FoodSaver Vac bag and seal it as you normally would. If you try to seal a liquid in the bag unfrozen, the vac will pull the liquid into the motor and ruin it. I hope this helps some of you.

5-0 out of 5 stars Great machine and easy to use
I have had my FoodSaver for a few years now.My husband and I use it often.Meats keep so much longer, without getting freezer burn, than freezing meats in the celo. wraps that they come in at the grocery store. We also now buy big packages of meat - steak, chicken, pork - at a wholesale club....We bring it all home and then pack it in bags of two pieces of meat. Then, all we have to do it take a bag out of the freezer and thaw it when we want to cook. The meat is as fresh as when we bought it.

The only thing that I have not tried with this machine is using it with a container and not a bag.I really haven't had a need to do that.

I did discover that it is not good to try to seal a fresh loaf of bread in one of the bags....It mushes the bread. However, I found a way around this.I freeze my bread overnight in a regular plastic bag.The next day, once the bread is frozen, I put the bread in a FoodSaver bag, vacuum the air out and seal it.

All in all, a great machine to have....It saves your frozen food!

5-0 out of 5 stars Totally awesome machine!!
This machine is easy to use and saves a ton of money when you have to freeze things and freezer burn is a concern. I have kept fresh salmon up to a year in a bag,and steaks I put them in marinade then freeze them they come out very tender and good.
Also great to buy ground meat on sale and use these bags to make dinner sized portions, your ground meat will never freezer burn!
Thanks

Editorial Review

This Ronco dehydrator dries everything from fruits and vegetables to meats and seafood to flowers and herbs to flour-and-water dough for crafts. It makes beef jerky (and other jerkies) and, with the aid of a little unpasturized yogurt as a starter, it also makes yogurt. This 5-tray model is a medium-size convection-air dehydrator, as opposed to the 10- and 15-tray models that use motorized fans, and runs silently. It can take a day or two to dry apple slices, which may be longer than a motorized-fan unit. Up to five trays can be stacked on the base, and then the unit plugs into a wall socket. The included trays are 12-1/2 inches in diameter, the unit is 12-3/4 inches high, and instruction/recipe booklets come with it. For fruit rollups and dried herbs and flowers, special trays and screens can be ordered separately. --Fred Brack ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars Wonderful machine...A+
I have used Ronco dehydrators for 10 years. For the fellow who had trouble with his beef jerky burning. The only thing I can thing of is that maybe he did not leave the top and bottom vents open...I have run tons of meat through the dehyrdrator and never had a bit of trouble....Try deer, moose, and bear jerky. Yumm.

1-0 out of 5 stars 1st product review; durability not function
Well, got my unit last night and open it to find two of the five trays had shattered, presumably during shipment. I was surprised as the shipping box showed no signs of crush or other damage. I requested a replace ment and shall review the next units condition as well as, hopefully, its function.

5-0 out of 5 stars Love it!
I am absolutely delighted with this product!I had been using my oven to dehydrate liver for dog treats. After I gave some to a friend she mentioned that her dog liked them so well she had purchased a dehydrator to make some herself.I shopped around a little and chose this one mainly just because Ron Popeil is so successful I figured he must be selling good stuff. This little unit made beautiful dehydrated liver in half the time it took in my oven.I can't wait for summer to try it with my home-grown herbs and flowers! ... With this Rival cotton candy maker, you can indulge cravings for food from the fair on a year-round basis. A sturdy base with a central disc assembly and covered heating element, the machine spins the cotton candy into a broad basin while you collect it on one of the included paper cones. The unit calls for pure granulated sugar mixed with food coloring or one of Rival’s specially formulated sugar products. Warm-up takes around five minutes and the cotton candy is ready after about two minutes of spinning. Both basin and assembly should be washed by hand after use. Rival equips the cotton candy maker with sturdy suction cup feet to prevent it from traveling or vibrating excessively. It measures 14 by 14 by 5-3/4 inches and carries a one-year warranty.--Emily Bedard ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars really cool.
Last night i used this with my kids, and the cotton candy came out awesome!you need to follow the directions though, and NEVER put more than a scoop and a half in at a time.it's not that hard to clean, just have your kids crack off the hardened sugar in the bowl and eat it. Also soak the center piece in hot water for about 5 minutes.

4-0 out of 5 stars Worked Good
The product is a much higher quality product than the Roseart brand and doesn't look goofy like the one with the wheels. I followed the directions and had satisfactory results although it took about 10 spoonings to get a carnival size cotton candy. I would recommend this product.

5-0 out of 5 stars Works Great!
If you *follow the instructions carefully* it works really well and makes fantastic, delicious cotton candy! The first few times it may not work quite as easily, but once you get the hang of it, it's not tough to make cones as big as (or bigger than) the ones on the box. It must heat up sufficiently and be on a level surface in order to work properly.

The best technique we've come up with is to pour in the sugar carefully, making sure to evenly distribute the sugar, and turn it on immediately. Once the candy starts coming out (which is much more quickly than the instructions suggest), immediately scoop it onto the cone, and carefully lift it up slightly over the bowl and start twisting the cone, occasionally moving it in circles around the bowl. It's worked wonderfully this way.

If you want to add color and flavor, make sure they are very strong in the raw sugar, or else you won't notice them in the finished product.

Finally, with regards to cleaning, if you simply soak the pieces in hot water *immediately* after use, cleanup really is very easy. We haven't had any problems, even when the sugar burned slightly on the first attempt.

This machine is great fun, and I highly recommend it! ... Read more

This 1,235-watt countertop oven makes pizza in about half the time required by a conventional oven. You don't need to preheat it--it begins rotating and baking the moment you plug it in. There are independently controlled top and bottom heating elements, so all types (frozen or fresh) and sizes (7 to 12 inches) of pizza can be custom baked. With a rising-crust pizza, for example, you should run the lower heating element for 10-12 minutes before turning on the top element. For a crisper crust, bake the pizza with both heating elements, then finish it off with a few minutes of bottom-only heating. For extra cooking time on your toppings, leave the top element on a little longer. A timer with automatic shutoff lets you set cooking times precisely, and a cooking-time guide for various pizza types is printed on the pizza maker. For safety, the appliance shuts off automatically if it overheats. With the 13-1/4-inch-diameter baking pan in place, the pizza maker is 13-1/4 inches wide, 9-1/2 inches high, and 17-1/2 inches deep. (The baking pan can be removed for more compact storage.) It carries a two-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack ... Read more

5-0 out of 5 stars I love this thing!
Our family has been using one of these to cook frozen pizzas at home for at least a year or two now, and we love it. It is fast and it does a great job, just like it's suppose to.

I'm about to buy another one to keep on our sailboat so we can cook pizza while we're tied up to the dock (and on shore power). The unit is small to begin with and it disassembles into two parts (the heating unit and the pan), so it should be easy to store in the limited space we have. It should also keep the cabin a lot cooler than an oven would (if we even had an oven on board).

If they were less expensive I'd buy a third one to use at my office. When I bought my original one I thought I only paid about $40-$45.

4-0 out of 5 stars Great product for Pizza Lovers
I just purchased a Presto Pizzazz Pizza "oven" because my regular oven isn't working. So rather than do the logical thing and get my oven fixed I decided to buy even more gadgetry for my home.

I love my pizza and my pizza loves me - so I was anxious to try the Pizzazz. The Pizzazz claims to cook Pizza from start to finish in less time than it takes for most conventional ovens to pre-heat. I decided to see how true this claim really is so I brought out my Pizzazz and cooked away. I cooked a frozen regular crust Tombstone Pizza in 17 minutes from start to finish. That isn't bad considering it use to take my working oven over 12 to 15 minutes to pre-heat! Now that it doesn't work correctly it takes about 2 hours to reach 400 degrees and it sometimes smokes.

I have cooked two pizzas on the machine so far. The pizza cooking quality is great. It browns the cheese and crisp the crust perfectly. I would recommend this product to anyone who is a big pizza eater like me. I don't like the name though, it's a bit stupid. I would change the name to the Presto Pizza Producer X (aka PPPX).

This is just an initial report; I plan to write a follow-up later. I may change my mind when I cook a pizza made from scratch or a rising dough pizza or if it burns my house down. It says not to cook anything but Pizza on the machine due to fire risk. I plan to cook fish sticks on the Pizzazz this coming week.

4-0 out of 5 stars A fun, fast way to make delicious pizza
This thing is great!

It makes delicious pizza, right before one's eyes, in a time that compares favorably with use of an oven. And cleanup is easy.

There are three small things I need to knock it for:

The first is my own problem, which I am sure I can handle. So far, I have not been able to get extremely crispy crusts from it, no matter how thin I've made the dough.I'll just keep playing with the settings, something the instructions encourage.

The second is that the pan can only make pizzas 12 inches and smaller. For a family, this is not big enough, so I have to make multiple pizzas for one meal. It's too bad the Presto engineers couldn't have figured out a way to make a larger pan, maybe 15-18 inches in size.

The third is that the pan's spindle protrudes beneath its base.I can't believe the engineers designed it like this.Had the spindle been shorter (or the base higher), it would have been a lot easier to put the pan on a flat counter and prepare the pizza on it.My workaround is to put the pan on the corner of my sink when pinching the crust and applying the toppings.Gets the job done, but awkwardly.A better pan design, or a stand for the pan, would be a massive improvement.

The pizza this thing makes is delicious.I have been making homemade pizza for 20 years, using cookie sheets, metal and glass pans, and pizza stones, and this product yields the best-tasting results I've ever gotten. It's incredibly fun, even for adults, to smell and watch as the raw pizza cooks before your eyes!

Anyone buying this for themselves will be delighted.Anyone buying this for a gift will receive a big thank you once it's used.I hope that the brains at Presto will resolve the two design issues mentioned above.Doing so would easily elevate this product to five stars in my book. ... Read more

Delicate, lacy designs and subtle sweetness make pizzelles excellent accompaniments to a rich coffee or cappuccino. With intricate patterns, these 3-inch cookies look difficult to make, but a child would have a great time printing them out: you just pour in the batter, close the lid, remove, and enjoy. A ready-light tells you when the baker is ready, and a steam guard protects hands. For added sophistication, pizzelles can be shaped into cones or cups when they're still warm--try filling a fluted pizzelle with liquor-flavored whipped cream for a more decadent dessert. 5-0 out of 5 stars Good product, needs salt!
We opened it up and mixed up a batch of dough right away. The cookies were good, but not great.Careful inspection and comparison to the pizelle recipe in "Baking with Julia" revealed that the recipes that came with the product did not include salt.Perhaps they assume you are using salted butter. The recipe in the Julia Child book adds a pinch of salt to the recipe made with unsalted butter.

It took a little practice to get the right amount of dough on the griddle.Once cooked, the cookies slide right off; I just used a heatproof silicone spatula to give them a nudge onto the cooling rack.

It is tough to try molding the little cookies into bowls or cones.Tuiles or "Pringle" shapes might be ok, though.

5-0 out of 5 stars I love my new Pizzelle baker!
I got mine (quickly even with free shipping) and made almond pizzelles the very next weekend. They were a huge hit.I make about 20 christmas gift baskets every year and fill them with jams, quick breads, and homemade cookies. This year everyone will be getting a bag of pizzelles too.I love the fact that they are 3 inches instead of 5.You can make 4 at a time and they are less likely to break.I just purchased a second Quattro Pizzelle Baker to give as a gift.

5-0 out of 5 stars Excellent Pizzelle Baker!!!!
I have been looking for a pizzelle baker for about a year when this one caught my eye. Every pizzelle baker I liked ended up being way out of my price range with many of them close to, or over a hundred dollers. Seeing I would only be using mine during the holidays I didn't want to spend that kind of money. I saw that this one had all the features I wanted and was on sale and I couldn't pass it up. I used it as soon as I got it home and was sooo excited by the quality of the baker. The pizzelles came out perfect and cleanup was much easier than I anticipated. I made a batch and took them to work a few weeks later and got many compliments. I even used a recipe included with the baker. This has been one of my favorite items I have purchased online. I highly recommend this Pizzelle Baker! ... Read more
