This smaller version of George Foreman's famous "as seen on TV" Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine is perfect for preparing quick, low-fat meals for one or two people. The double-sided grill surface heats in less than five minutes to an even temperature perfect for grilling most foods. The high grill grooves and slight angle allow fat to run off the grill as food cooks, and the nonstick surface requires little or no additional fat for cooking. The plastic, grooved spatula works well to scrape off any bits that may have stuck to the surface.

Meats and fish are the obvious choices to take advantage of the Grilling Machine's fat-reduced grilling, but vegetables and tofu dogs work well too. Don't waste your money on this - buy a convection oven
I agree completely with Mr. Charles Tsen.Every thing he has written about this grill is right.I had the misfortune of buying this after reading all the hype about this useless appliance.I bougth it more than a year ago and promised myself that i would never use it again.It is ridiculosuly difficult to clean and you simply will never get the desired results.For all those people looking to get a great fat reducing machine, I would recommend that they should consider "Nesco American Harvest JS-4000TE Jet Stream Oven" from Amazon or any other site.I have been using this convection oven for the past 6-7 years and am extremely satisfied.One tip in prolonging the life of this convection oven is to use a fresh paper towel on the tray to absorb all the fat before using it.

This grill is a Champ
Quick heat up means a quick meal. As a busy single,I find that I can put a potato in the microwave, plug in the grill, preheat, put the meat on the grill and be ready by the time the potato is cooked and a vegetable is put together.Clean up is simple thanks to the nonstick coating. I cook everything, including eggplant on this grill.It is a definite necessity in my kitchen.

This is such an awesome little piece of kit and have recommended it to so many people! My five star review i guess also takes into condideration the price we paid. We go this when it was reduced to $14.99 and I doubt that, pound for pound, you could get a better kitchen gadget for that price.

As I had previously seen this on tv infomercials I was a little sceptical as I always am of these "gadgets", but this really has changed our kitchen lives. It heats up so fast and cooks very quickly and evenly (due to it cooking both sides at once).We really love the speed - its great to know that in four/five minutes you can have a perfect tuna-stek or porkchop without having to fire up the oven. It also frees up the oven to cook other things for your meal.

Its just big enough to cook two chicken breasts or two burgers, a porkchop or steak. But it can also be used for sausage links, bacon, vegetables and grilled cheese sandwiches.

Some people have mentioned they have real problems cleaning it up. Whilst yes it could be better but you literally just scrape off any excess and wipe it down. If you dont want to have to do that then you need to buy the one with removable plates but it would have cost us three times as much.

Be warned thought that the fat-collecting drip tray shouldnt be put in the dishwasher - we did and it melted part of it. ... Read more

Perfect Rice and Oatmeal
My previous rice cooker was a no name cheap model.It always burned the rice.However, after purchasing this little gem, my rice has always cooked to perfection.Brown rice, white rice and other different types I purchase at the Korean grocery market.It is so simple to use.The timer is extremely convenient.I set it in the morning and have hot rice ready when I return home in the evening.This cooker is also great for oatmeal and whole grain hot cereals.It is particularly convenient for 'steel cut' oatmeal.This is the best oatmeal and is not processed as rolled oats are. I measure the ingredients in the evening and set the timer and I have hot steel cut oatmeal ready when I get up in the morning.It usually takes 35-40 minutes to cook steel cut oats on the stove top, but is is so easy and convenient with this cooker.I have eaten much healthier since purchasing this rice cooker.

This is an awesome Rice cooker!
I've gone through 3 rice cookers in 3 years.The first one always stuck and steamed over and made a mess and the second broke and wouldn't stay on cook.Then someone bought me this and I am so pleased with it!This cooker never sticks, makes perfect fluffy rice, is attractive and has a retractable cord.It doesn't hiss, spit out steam or smell funky.Itdoes seem to take longer to make the rice than my other junk cookers, but I don't really care.It's very easy to clean.It also stores away very nicely.

Excellent rice cooker for a small family. Made in Japan.
I got this rice cooker about 2 months ago, and I am very pleased with the purchase.

It cooks enough rice for 2 or 3 people. It consumes only 310 watts of power compared to 670 watts for 5.5 cup model and 1000 watts for 10-cup model, so small size has its advantages. If you have a large family, however, I recommend getting a 5.5 or 10-cup model.

The rice, as others have mentioned, comes out perfectly most of the time. You just have to vary the amount of water (slightly) to get the results that suit your taste.

Few reviews say that it's hard to clean. That's simply not true. Every part is easy to clean and there are no dirty parts that are hard to reach. Not sure what or who motivated those reviews.

It's also great for making hot cereal and all kinds of porridge. This particular model is made in Japan which is a big plus from my perspective. Highly recommended! ... Read more

LOVE IT
It's the greatest can opener I've ever used.It is clean, it never touches the food.It is safe, there are no sharp edges - if used correctly.It is durable - I have had my Kuhn Rikon for about 6 years and I use it every time I need to open a can (it looks and function just as well today as the day I purchased it).It looks as good as a can open can look.It is not intuitive to use.It takes some getting used to if you have always used traditional can openers.In fact, we kept the instructions in the same drawer as the can opener for the first 4 years so our dog sitters can figure out how to use it when we're out of town.We only got rid of the instructions because we moved across the country.I love it so much that the first Christmas - 1999 - I bought one of these for every member of my family.They thought I was crazy, but now they all love it too.I also give it as a housewarming gift to all our friends.The down side may be, if your kids grow up using one of these (I am sure my can opener will last until my children are old enough to use it), they may not be able to use a traditional can opener when they encounter one.

Simple and Elegant
Well maybe not so simple, but it definitely works great. It's a pleasure to use and looks great in a modern style kitchen drawer with modern utensils. You will not be dissapointed, simply the best manual can opener available.

Why I Love This Opener
My wife and I find this to be the best can opener we have ever used; we even use it to open cans that have lift top lids (such as Del Monte canned sliced peaches).Why this can opener is so good is because of how it works and the quality of the product.It is made like a Swiss watch; there is no slop in the movement.

It is different than a traditional can opener which you place along the side of the can top and it cuts off the top.This can opener you place on top of the can and it separates the top of the can from the can cylinder.Contrary to the language used in the Amazon review, the can opener does not depend on cutting.The Kuhn Rikon Safety Lid Lifter depends on breaking the seal between the lid and the can.

The knob that you turn rotates a knurled wheel.When pinched on a can, it is forced into contact with the inside edge of the can lid.The wheel of the can opener that is on the outside is set at a slight angle that causes a lifting action to break the bond between the can and the lid.

Initially, you turn the knob clockwise; when the opener has gone completely around the top of the can and you detect a drop in force, you then turn the knob counter-clockwise and the lid lifts away from the can.Typically, there are no sharp edges because nothing has been cut.

If you want to see a good picture of the mechanism, look at the lower price model.To see this, click on other products by Kuhn Rikon.You will be able to go to a picture that shows the opening mechanism and will see the very slight angle on the wheel opposite the drive wheel.This wheel does all the magic.

Because of my fascination with this can opener, I have examined a lot of cans that were opened with this opener.Only one time I found a sharp point that must have occured when the lid did not properly separate from the cylinder.

The drawbacks:

There are some cans with pull top lids that this opener will not open but these are few.

I notice in some reviews people talk about sliver pieces and I have seen this.What I believe they see is a small particle of the glue ring that seals the top of the can to the cylinder in the assembly process.

The can opener is designed for use by right handed people.To operate this opener, you need to be able to position the can opener on the can with your left hand and hold it there while turning the knob with your right hand.If you can't do that, you probably don't want this can opener.

What can I say?This thing is absolutely wonderful.Boils water in about 4-5 minutes, works like a charm, automatically shuts itself off as soon as the water comes to a boil, and it works on any surface.Just wanted to add my 5 star rating...

And for those of you wondering - yes - you can use this on ANY surface.The base of it does not get hot at all.I keep it on a wooden desk in my office and have never had any problems.

Indispensible kitchen appliance
This beautifully-designed water kettle is a real joy to have.It is very fast, always stays cool to the touch, turns off automatically or when lifted from the base, and looks great on the countertop.I use it every day!

excellent with lots of little advantages
We drink several cups of tea a day and are a heavy user of our kettle. Main reasons that we like it:
- Fast
-Detachable from base letting you bring it easily to your cup
-Automatic turn or when you lift it off the base (a safety issue in case of earthquakes, or simply animals that might knock it over)
-Auto turn off when it boils; we had ruined stove top kettles in the past by forgetting about them
-the clear panel (on both sides) lets you fill it for only a single cup of tea; saving a great deal of time (and some electricity I suppose).This is a huge benefit.
-Rotates on the base for either left or right hand use.
-Plastic keeps the water quite warm for a while HOWEVER, the biggest negative is that it not very visually attractive.

Reservoir hard, if not impossible, to clean thoroughly
If this little coffeemaker didn't make decent coffee, I would have given it one star. It does, and had I writtent a review before trying to clean the reservoir, I would have rated it at least a four.

Unfortunately, the difficulty of cleaning the water reservoir--and the impossibility of removing the water indicator level from the unit to clean it--are points important to consider if you live in an area where ants periodically invade everything. Even with the use of a cleaning agent, crud remains and is unreachable.

Furthermore, the carafe has a metal band around it, making it impossible to rewarm coffee in the carafe in the microwave. The "footprint" of this coffeemaker is bigger than it needs to be, too.

Overall, these seemed sufficient reason to downgrade my rating of this coffeemaker to a two.

BOTTOM LINE: There are better options. Check out the Braun in the same size. I give that a solid five.

best 4-cup coffeemaker on the market
Although an unfamiliar brand name, the Capresso more than lived up to its stellar rating. Very well designed unit for small family -- I drink a mug, my wife a cup of coffee -- at breakfast. The waterlevel indicator helps you brew less than 4 cups, and the coffee tastes just fine. All in all, great value for your money -- beats the name brands, and we've tried most.

The one improvement recommended is the pour spout that overflows when you pour too fast from a full carafe. Otherwise this is a compact, neat and reliable unit in the 6 months we've had it.

Worked good for six months then useless.
Very good coffee maker as others have pointed out.Worked for six months then began to leak severely during brewing process. It's now useless. Not built to last.My other Capresso coffee pot broke nearly right away.The feature where you can remove the carafe during the brewing process depends on a tiny plastic piece that broke off while removing the carafe rather than preventing drips.I've had experience with two Capresso coffee pots of this type and both didn't last very long.I feel it's because they used flimsy/cheap parts in critical areas. ... Sanyo compact refrigerator
Probably the best small refrigerator on the market. It has a true freezer, It will keep ice cream really frozen in it's separate freezer. The drawback is that you have to flex the door retainer to get a 2 liter bottle in the door, It will fit however. The real advantage to this model is that it is self defrosting in the refregerator section!. If they had allowed better accomodation for 2 liter bottles it would deserve a 5.
